Sages of the New Covenant
We avowed to provide limited legal assistance, like getting bail / anticipatory bail for missionaries and evangelist, who are facing legal persecution in India. This will be done by Christian lawyers, who come forward to volunteer their services, by teaming up with the local sponsors.
God expects the Christian advocates to extend assistance to servants of God, as the scriptures says:
“Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.”
- Proverb 31:8-9
We are looking for Legal professionals and Sponsors. Please suggest prospective partners in our mission.
We need advocates driven by agape to voulanteer to run legal clinics at district level / State level.
We need sponsors to register with us to volunteer to share the financial burden to meet out the court / legal expenses.
When any contextual theologians and evangelist are legally persecuted, we need Prayer Warriors who would support our Initiatives. Prayer Warriors, who are willing to do honorary services to us, please contact us,:
Mr Thayappan is a Contextual Evangelist based in Chennai. He became a Christian after experiencing the love demonstrated by the Christians, during his son's hospitalization in US. Before becoming into the Christian fold, he was a staunch Hindu. His publications become very famous (His testimony CD sales has crossed 2.5 lakhs copies and are sold all over the world) as he used to price his CDs and books only for Rs 10/- and in the process he is being called '10 RUPEES THAYAPPAN'.
Bro. Thayappan was invited to speak during the Church Centenary function of the C.S.I.(Church of South India) Church in Naduvakurichi, (Near Sawyerpuram), Nazareth-Thoothukkudi diocese. His contextual message must have irritated the Hindu fascist elements in the village and the local governing board chief (seer - அரங்காவலர்) of the near by temple preferred a false police complaint. F.I.R. (No.: 150/2013)has been filed with the Sawyerpuram Police Station under Sec 153 (a) (inflicting religious conflicts) and 506/1 (Threatened to murder) of IPC. The District court (Court No.:1) had rejected the bail application. Hindutva cadres were rallying for his arrest. Mr Siluvai was the advocate who moved the bail application in Thoothukkudi Court.
In addition, we have launched the following online signature campaign requesting the intervention of Selvi Jayalaitha, Chief Minister, Government of Thamizh Nadu:
Bro. James Chelladurai is the pastor in the Assembly of God Church at Paramankurichi, near Thiruchendur. He was having an annual asanam (Love Feast) festival in his Church on 7th September 2013. One member of the Hindutva ideologist Mr Rathnapandi reported that the decibel level of the speakers is high to the police. Accordingly a complaint (F.I.R. No.: 417/13) was lodged at Thiruchendur Police Station and Bro. James Chelladurai is booked under the following Sections of Indian Penal Code: 294 (b), 506 (ii) of I P C and under section: 71 (XIX) of TNCP Act.
