Sages of the New Covenant
'Original / Life / Natural Sin' a word invented by human beings to call ones 'lack of awareness about his original state of creation'. This word is called சகசமலம் – Sahasamalam in Thamizh and Janma Pāpa in Sanskrit.
The average mind is governed by the Law of Reverse-Effect. We collide with everything from which we are trying to save ourselves because the object of our fear becomes the center of our consciousness. We are made to believe that we are born sinners; and unknowingly sin has become the center of our consciousness.
We all believe that God is Love and God unconditionally loves the human beings and expect human beings to love others unconditionally. In an unconditional love, there are no expectations. When there is unconditional love, could there be any punishment; that too for eternity? The rulers have to make people guilty about something, and then only they could rule-over them. Religious leaders were always puppet in the hands of the political leaders; and accordingly the theology was woven. As a result the concept of SIN too is skewed-up.
The Abrahamic religions expects us to believe that God cursed the Earth, and driven Adam and Eve out of Garden of Eden, because of the sheer disobedience of eating the a particular fruit, which God Himself planted in the Garden of Eden. The all powerful God, Creator of the Tree of Knowledge could have transformed Both Adam and Eve, instead of making them to inherit the curse to carry forward to the generation to come through them. We all agree God is Love.
Hence the God, who loves the humanity unconditionally could not have punished the humanity to this severity, just for the sake of disobedience.
Hence disobedience to God cannot be called the natural / Original SIN. Then what constitute the original sin?
Abrahamic religions say that God created human beings in the likeness of God and in the image of God. Eating the Fruit of Knowledge symbolizes that both Adam and Eve denied their own existence and tried to immanent God. The Past existence of Adam and Eve was: likeness of God. The immanence Adam and Eve tried to achieve was to transform themselves God- like. In their past existence, they never felt that they were in the likeness of God, because they were like a fish in the water; and a fish in the water do not go in search for water; because the very existence of the fish is in water.
When Eve heard the voice of the serpent she forgot who she really was. If Eve had told the serpent, “What a stupid thing you are telling me. I am already created in the image and likeness of God. There is no need for me to become like God”, then things would have been different. But for a moment she forgot who she was. She thought that she was not like God and wanted to become God-like.
The Sin committed by Adam and Eve was, they failed to acknowledge their existence, prior to the temptation and ventured to become, what was already their original-existential nature or nature of creation.
The disbelief of Adam and Eve about their existential nature and their attempt to achieve, what they were already had proved that they had forgotten their very nature of their creation – likeness of God. Prior to eating the fruit, everyday both Adam and Eve used to spend their time with God in the cool of the day, as their illumination was aligned to the illumination of God. With their attempt to become God-like, they have failed to acknowledge their illuminating nature; and in the process reduced themselves with their belief that they are non-illuminating; which is why, Adam and Eve could not withstand the illumination and glow of God and went hiding. Earlier, the same illumination and glow was present in them. Adam and Eve's disbelief, made them to feel the darkness (nakedness) in them and they needed to hide themselves. Adam and eve were like the river fish, when the water is drained, they bury themselves inside mud.
In some Indian temples people are not allowed to carry anything made of leather. This has nothing to do with preventing the stuff made from killing an animal. This is something to do with the divine vibration. In the Universe everything is linked with magnetic waves. Human beings are a magnet and so are the other plants. As Adam and Eve failed to acknowledge their likeness of God, their polarity got changed and they had to hide themselves during God’s visitation after failing to acknowledge their likeness of God by listening to the advice of the Serpent' and in their endeavor to become Godlike, Adam and Eve had taken the path of Snaky / Sankhya, by acquiring all the worldly knowledge.
As Adam and Eve lost their divine illumination, they could not stand before the magnetic vibrations of God. God wanted to be in touch with Adam and Eve. As their nakedness (darkness) prevented them from establishing a relationship with God, God gave them garments made of leather, which are magnetic (electrical) resistive. Now a days, direct human-God interaction is almost nil, and most of the human-God encounters are indirect, either in the form of a Vision / Dream.
Human being go to religious places non-consciously only to renew their divine vibration, Wearing leather items on your body would reduce the flow of divine magnetic energy; which is why entering with leather belts and bags are prevented in some Indian temples. But one could see the pictures of sages sitting on the hide of tiger / deer during meditation. This is done to prevent the flow of divine vibration getting earthed.
The word SIN derives from “Old English ‘syn’. The Biblical terms that have been translated from Greek and Hebrew as “sin” or "syn" originate in archery and literally refer to missing the "gold" at the centre of a target, but hitting the target (Pagels, Elaine. The Gnostic Gospels. Vintage Books: New York, 1989. p. 123.) Hence, SIN could be defined as "to miss the mark".
Most of the people confuse this word SIN with OFFENCE. Offence is a something non-compliance to the set of rules and regulations framed by the religious / societal leaders and by the governments. Though offence could also could be construed as "to miss the mark", one need to understand the difference between the two. What is offence in one country may not be an offence in another country; hence offence loses its universal nature and spirituality has nothing to do with offence. But most of the religious leaders, with their self-righteousness try to link offence with sin and make them the congregation feel convicted and live with guilt.
Jesus, the Immanuel gave the following two commandments:
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.” (Matthew 22: 37-40)
When one becomes Immanuel Conscious, she / he will identify the Immanuel in others, which will stop him from committing any offence against others, as they would start loving their ‘neighbors’ as him / her-self.
In Thamizh word to denote sin is: பாவம். To express a pitiable condition of someone, people say: "பாவமா இருக்கு”. So, Adam and Eve attained a pitiable state, by failing to acknowledge their original state of creation and passed on the same pitiable ignorance / maya / illusion to their descendants, till the advent of the Immanuel.
God created humanity in His own image and likeness, which would had the following attributes: holy, whole, eternal and unfolding divine. What Adam and Eve missed and subsequently their generation missed till the advent of the Immanuel is: the Swadharma of their creation – likeness of God. The original sin is nothing but Adam and Eve forgetting the real nature of human creation and their desire to become like, what was already their original nature.
Failure of Adam and Eve to Acknowledge Their Likeness of God Is the Original Sin.
